Aesthetic Summer Treatment Guide

Whether you are receiving "maintenance" aesthetic treatments or are smack dab in the middle of a treatment plan Dr. King created for you, the seasonality of treatments is super important. Some treatments can be done any time of the year, some treatments that must be avoided in summer and some treatments can be done anytime but require some modification or extra precautions. We have compiled a list of some of the most common below in our summer aesthetic treatment guide, but for specific questions about your upcoming treatment you can reach out to the office with questions.

Injectables:

  • Toxins such as Botox and Dysport-can be done all year round

  • Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Sculptra-can be done all year round

Collagen Stimulating Treatments:

  • Sofwave-can be done all year round

  • Microneedling-can be done all year round but must avoid excess sun exposure for at least 2 weeks following treatments

  • Fractional Laser-can be done all year round but must avoid excess sun exposure for at least 2 weeks following treatments

Laser Treatments:

  • Laser Hair Reduction-We recommend taking a break during the summer and restarting treatments in the fall to avoid risk of laser burns. May treat non sun exposed areas such as underarms and brazillian at lower settings.

  • Intense Pulse Light (IPL)-This is a fall through winter treatment, maybe even early spring if you have avoided sun over the summer.

HydraFacial: May be done all year round

PRP Injections for Hair Growth: May be done all year round

CoolSculpting: May be done all year round but if you want results by summer, start treatments in the fall/winter

Skin Resurfacing Treatments:

  • Medium Depth Chemical peels (Perfect Peel) make the skin extremely sensitive to UV rays and should not be done in the summer. During the rest of the year avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks following treatment and wear sunscreen as directed.

  • Light or No-Peel Peels may be done all year round, but avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week after and wear sunscreen as directed.

  • Microdermabrasion-may be done all year round, but avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week after and wear sunscreen as directed.

  • Dermaplane-may be done all year round and wear sunscreen as directed. Be aware that excess sweating can cause some stinging and discomfort after dermaplanning.
