How much does Botox® cost?
"Baby Botox" is the technique in which toxin is injected in low doses to prevent lines and wrinkles. The goal is to maintain some movement without scrunching the skin, so creases never get a chance to form. This approach is considered safe and effective!
Can Botox® be used for prevention?
Although Botulinum Toxin poisoning is life threatening, small doses such as those used for cosmetic purposes are safe. Botox® has been safely used to treat unwanted lines and wrinkles since 1989.
Is it dangerous?
Botulinum Toxin can be injected into the masseter muscle on each side of the jaw which can prevent clenching too hard and grinding at night. This injection can also be treated to slim the jawline in some patients. Dosages of 15-25 units are used per side and typically last about 6 months
How can Botox® help with TMJ
Botox® can be superficially injected in the underarms once every 6 months to decrease activity of the sweat glands and is extremely effective for excessive sweating. A dosage of 50 units per side is safe and effective.
Can Botox® be used for sweating?
While you may find that your overall dosage increases due to adding new treatment areas, the dosage needed to treat each individual area may actually go down over time as the muscle weakens slightly due to consistent treatment.
Will I need more Botox as I age?
About the Treatment
Botulinum Toxin is a purified protein made from botulism bacteria, which binds to the nerve endings, preventing the release of the chemical transmitters that activate muscles. When injected into specific areas of the face, it paralyzes the small muscles that cause frown lines, crow’s feet, horizontal forehead creases, and other facial wrinkles. The goal is to weaken the muscles that contribute to aging and sagging and to strengthen the muscles that lift. The injections are relatively painless, and the effect lasts from three to four months. Botox® is fully metabolized by the body so it does not remain in the system.

Botulinum toxin treatment decreases local muscle activity, thereby preventing the appearance of “dynamic” wrinkles that are caused by repeated facial expressions. The effect generally lasts from three to four months. In some cases, after multiple treatments, results can last longer in between treatments.

Botox® is used to treat wrinkles which are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying facial muscles every time you smile, laugh or frown. The more emotion you show, the deeper these wrinkles and lines are likely to be. Botox® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. This treatment can be used to reduce forehead lines, lines around the eyes, frown lines, vertical lip lines, and neck creases. It can also be used to create a brow lift, neck lift, reduce nasal flaring, and "gummy smile"

After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expressions to be unaffected. See our Pre and Post Care Guide Below for more details about what to expect during your appointment.

Pre & Post Treatment Care Guide
Stop fish oil, aspirin and Ibuprofen 1 week before treatment. Please do not stop blood thinners and aspirin prescribed for a medical condition, but notify your provider of which one you are taking.
Avoid alcohol the night before or exercise the morning before treatment to minimize bruising.
There is new data to suggest taking Zinc 50mg twice a day for the 2-3 days leading up to and including the day of your appointment may make Botox more effective.
